Management By Objectives

SETTING OF ORGANIZATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Initially, organizations have to set corporate objectives. Corporate objectives determine the motive and mission of the business and may be explained by trying to answer the question ‘what is our business’. Following out of the corporate objectives are the long and short-term strategic objectives. This exercise is carried out at the topmost level. The mission of the organization will be transformed into goals for a given period. The second important thing is the elucidation of organizational role. Sometimes organizational goals are not properly illuminated and precise responsibilities are not set for achieving objectives. There should be unambiguous assignment of tasks and fixation of responsibilities.
